The Bedrooms: Flowers of Fife
Floors ‘o fyffe, n Scottish.
Named after the abundance of poppies that once flourished
on what is now the 7th hole of Craigielaw Golf Course,
Aberlady, East Lothian. Do not be deceived by the short 366
yards. Place your drive between the mounds on the right and
the well placed pond on the left if you want to reach this green
in two. Take your line from the distant Arthur’s Seat and
Edinburgh Castle, the two extinct volcanoes upon which
‘the Athens of the North’ now rests.
This was three rooms before we renovated and made it into a very generous sized bedroom, with a built in closet, day bed and bathroom. Warmed with heavy tartan drapes, the view here is massive – there is nothing but water between you and the Forth Rail and Road Bridges some 20 miles away!
